Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy

Anjaneya Swamy as we all dearly know as Hanuman is the incarnation of Lord Shiva. He taught us the meaning of true bhakthi (devotion). Lord Hanuman is known for undying devotion, exemplary commitment to given task and is a form of Dharma.

Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy idol which will be consecrated is one of its kind and is the only Panchamukha Hanuman idol in all Ashramas established by Sri Sri Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji. We are very fortunate to have this Moorthy in our Ashrama at BHEL, RC Puram.

The Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy Avatar has first been witnessed by Mother Sitadevi in the Ashokavana of Ravana Lanka, to give confidence to her on his ability that he can take her to Sri Ramachandra Prabhu on his shoulders.

Incidentally, Sri Sita Mata has seen the Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy avatar for the second time as well, post the Coronation of Sri Ramachandra Prabhu. Lord Srirama with the divine indication by akasavani (Celestial voice) has decided to fight against Demon Sathakanta Ravana for the welfare of the universe. During the battle, both Lord Srirama and Lakshamana fainted, necessitating Sri Sita Mata to enter the battle field. At this crucial stage, Lord Hanuman takes the form of Panchamukha Hanuman and helped Sita Mata in easily killing the demon Satakanta Ravana by attacking him from all the sides.

Panchamukha Hanuman means Lord Hanuman with five faces namely Vanara (monkey), Narasimha (Lion), Garuda (bird), Varaha (boar) and Ashwa (Horse). Hanuman is also called as Chiranjeevi, who is Sarva Vyapi (Omnipresent). This is the true essence of Panchamukha Hanuman.

In this form Lord Hanuman has blessed and has been blessing many of his devotees and helped them overcome their material and celestial obstacles for obtaining Jnana (Knowledge).
